About Austin Aviation
Why Austin Aviation?
A Flight School for Students Ready to Actually Fly.
Austin Aviation has been founded for students who want to pursue their aviation dreams without the headaches and hassles. Our value add is simple; we make flying happen. Low student-to-instructor ratios means you don’t need to compete with every aviator South of the Mason Dixon to get on the schedule. Your instructor isn’t just another pilot, they become your personal mentor.
Convenient scheduling, flexible ground sessions, and our signature “FastTrack” Program set us light-years ahead.
If you want an honest, efficient, and safe flight training experience then welcome aboard.
Where We Operate
We are centrally located in Austin Texas based out of Burnet Municipal Airport (KBMQ), with satellite operations from Austin Executive Airport (KEDC) and Lago Vista Rusty Allen (KRYW). For dedicated training, we will reposition our aircraft to an airport near you to maximize your flying time.

Benefits of Burnet Airport
We purposely chose to base our flight school at Burnet Airport to provide the best possible experience for our students.
- Convenient Location: Less than an hour from any point in the Austin area, KBMQ offers easy access without the congestion of metro-area airports.
- Convenient Airspace: Wide open training areas, more training reps in locally at our uncontrolled Class E field, and we can make a short flight to get experience in Class D and Class C airports.
- Less Air Traffic, More Air Time: Compared to busier Austin-area training hubs, KBMQ’s quieter airspace means students spend more time flying and less time waiting on the ground.
- Instrument Training Ready: Equipped with two instrument approaches, KBMQ supports comprehensive IFR training for student pilots.
- Beautiful Facilities: Freshly paved 5000x75ft runway, plenty of parking, and a well-appointed FBO.
