Alexander Miller CFII
Austin Aviation Co-Founder
Alec’s passion for aviation began at a young age, and he’s gone on to dedicate his personal and professional life to the industry. At the age of 12 Alec joined the Civil Air Patrol and took his first orientation flight. Throughout his youth he continued training with CAP and ultimately graduated from a CAP flight academy during his senior year of high school where he earned his Private Pilot Certificate. Alec went on to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where he obtained advanced flight certifications and a Bachelors degree in Aviation Management.

Jeff Walsh CFII
Austin Aviation Co-Founder
Jeff has a deep passion for all aspects of aviation, especially the more technical areas. He got his helicopter Private Pilot Certificate in 2013 and quickly added airplane and instrument ratings. Jeff’s career in tech allowed him to live around the world, and he is a rated pilot in Australia and the United Kingdom. Jeff retired from Career 1.0 in 2024 to pursue aviation full time, quickly earning his commercial, CFI, and CFII certificates. Since then, Jeff has been building Austin Aviation into the school he would want to attend: modern equipment, contemporary instruction, and top-tier instructors.

Ben Fern CFII
Certified Flight Instructor
Ben, a native of Austin, Texas, discovered his passion for aviation at an early age through discovery flights in gliders. This led him to pursue his dream at Purdue University where he completed comprehensive flight training while earning dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Professional Flight Technology and Aviation Management. Following graduation, he returned to his hometown of Austin where he obtained his Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) certification. With his technical mindset and enthusiasm for flying, Ben is dedicated to helping each student succeed in their aviation journey. When not in the cockpit, he enjoys golfing, photography, and computer building.

Jack White ATP, CFII, MEI
Certified Flight Instructor
Jack began his aviation journey after graduating college in late 2022 and quickly progressed into flight instructing by early 2024. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate along with CFI, CFII, and MEI ratings and is committed to developing safe, confident, and capable pilots.
His instruction focuses on building strong fundamentals, situational awareness, and real world decision making skills in every phase of flight.
Outside of aviation, Jack is a dedicated cyclist and enjoys the discipline and competitiveness it brings. He also enjoys juggling and believes learning should stay engaging and fun.
